Customers may request to pledge securities held with Moneybase in favour of another bank or financial institution, typically as collateral for financing or other banking facilities.
How does the process work?
To proceed with a pledge, the request and instructions must come directly from the other bank or financial institution involved.
This is because the pledge documentation and requirements are handled institution-to-institution to ensure the correct legal and operational process is followed.
What information is usually required?
The requesting institution will normally need to provide:
- Details of the securities to be pledged
- The client account details
- The pledge documentation or required instructions
- Any settlement or custody information required to complete the process
Are there any fees?
Yes, fees apply when pledging securities.
- €25 fee per individual security pledged
- A minimum fee of €100 applies for first-time pledges
Examples
- Pledging 6 securities
6 × €25 = €150 fee - Pledging 2 securities for the first time
Normally this would amount to €50, however the minimum first-time pledge fee of €100 would apply
For any additional securities pledged after the initial pledge, the fee will be €25 per security without any minimum fee requirement.
How do I start the process?
Please ask the bank or financial institution requesting the pledge to contact us directly with the necessary instructions and documentation so we can guide them through the next steps.
