This setting controls whether Moneybase deducts Maltese withholding tax on eligible interest credited to your account. It applies only where local withholding is permitted. It does not change any tax withheld at source by the issuer, paying agent, or foreign market, and it does not apply to equity dividends.
How to change your withholding preference on interest:
- Open the app and go to Invest
- Select the instrument
- Scroll to Interest option and choose whether you want Moneybase to deduct withholding tax on your interest payments
When the change takes effect:
- Your choice applies to future interest payments on that instrument
- It cannot be backdated to payments already credited
