You can freeze, block, or delete your Moneybase card directly from the Cards section in the Moneybase app.
The options available depend on whether you have a physical card or a virtual card.
Please note that a card must be frozen before it can be permanently blocked or deleted.
How to freeze your card
Freezing your card temporarily blocks it.
This can be useful if you have misplaced your card or want to stop it from being used for a short period of time.
To freeze your card:
- Open the Moneybase app
- Go to the Cards section
- Select the card you would like to freeze
- Tap Freeze
Once frozen, the card cannot be used until you unfreeze it again.
How to permanently block a physical card
To permanently close a physical card, you first need to freeze it.
To block your physical card:
- Open the Moneybase app
- Go to the Cards section
- Select the physical card you would like to close
- Tap Freeze
- Once the card is frozen, tap Block physical card
- Review the message shown on screen
- Confirm your choice
Once you block a physical card, it cannot be used again. You may order a new card if you need one.
How to delete a virtual card
To permanently close a virtual card, the card must first be activated and frozen.
A virtual card is activated once it has at least one transaction. If the virtual card has not been used for at least one transaction, it cannot be deleted from the app.
To delete your virtual card:
- Open the Moneybase app
- Go to the Cards section
- Select the virtual card you would like to close
- Make sure the card has at least one transaction
- Tap Freeze
- Once the card is frozen, tap Delete
- Review the message shown on screen
- Confirm your choice
Once deleted, the virtual card will no longer be available for use.
Important to know
Freezing a card is temporary and can be reversed.
Blocking a physical card is permanent.
Deleting a virtual card is permanent.
A card must be frozen before it can be blocked or deleted.
A virtual card must have at least one transaction before it can be deleted, as it needs to be activated before this action is available.
A blocked or deleted card cannot be used again.
