How is my Moneybase Club qualifying balance calculated?

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 5:46 AM

Your qualifying balance is the total of your eligible cash and investment holdings across your Moneybase retail accounts.

What is included?

Your qualifying balance can include eligible holdings across your:

  • WEB or execution-only accounts
  • Advisory accounts
  • Discretionary accounts
  • E-money and investment cash accounts
  • Joint accounts

How is cash calculated?

Cash is included at its actual balance.

Cash held in a currency other than euro is converted to euro using Moneybase’s applicable foreign exchange reference rate on the assessment date.

How are investments calculated?

Investments are valued using their average weighted purchase cost. This means we use the cost at which the investments were acquired, rather than their current market value.

If an investment is held in a currency other than euro, its average weighted purchase cost is converted to euro using Moneybase’s applicable foreign exchange reference rate on the assessment date.

Example

You invest €500,000.

If the current value of those investments increases to €550,000, the investment portion of your qualifying balance remains €500,000.

If the current value falls to €450,000, the investment portion of your qualifying balance also remains €500,000.

Any eligible cash held in your Moneybase accounts is added to this amount.

Only changes to your cash balance or the average weighted purchase cost of your investments will change your qualifying balance.

How are joint accounts treated?

The full eligible balance of a joint account counts towards the qualifying balance of each account holder. It is not divided between them.

What is not included?

Business, corporate and trust accounts are held under separate identities. Their balances do not count towards your personal qualifying balance.

Your qualifying balance is assessed at the end of every business day.
